Welcome to Kurzgesagt's Official Discord server! The following rules apply to all content in the server, including any and every message, image, video, emoji, attachment, link, nickname, and profile picture. DMs connected through this server also must follow these rules.
RULES
1️⃣ Be respectful and courteous to each other. Promoting a friendly server environment is great for everyone! Do not encourage toxicity, conflict, drama, or in-chat fighting. No harassment, bullying, doxxing, threats, or any other act of the like. It is okay to mess with people, but use common sense and stop when asked to do so.
2️⃣ No hateful conduct. This includes, but is not limited to: racism, sexism, homophobia, slurs, or other conduct that is inherently and purposefully offensive. Swearing is permitted as long as it follows all rules and is not excessive.
3️⃣ No spamming. This includes excessive repeated messages, emojis, pings, copypastas, capital letters, etc. Keep the chat clean and flowing.
4️⃣ No advertising, including in DMs. Sharing server links or asking for free stuff falls under this rule.
5️⃣ No NSFW or NSFL content. This includes nudity, gore, shock, or other disturbing imagery.
6️⃣ No impersonation of other members or Kurzgesagt officials.
7️⃣ Keep all content in the appropriate channel. For example, keep kurzgesagt-discussion chat related to discussion of Kurzgesagt videos, don’t talk politics in math-and-cs, etc. Read the descriptions and pins of channels if needed.
8️⃣ Keep all conversations in English. This is an English-based server, for both moderation and inclusion purposes. You may send messages in other languages, but keep it brief and occasional.
9️⃣ Nicknames need to be easily pingable with English alphanumeric characters. Foreign characters, emojis, and unicode are fine as long as the main identity of the nickname is plain alphanumeric English.
1️⃣0️⃣ Do not ping or DM Kurzgesagt officials at all, unless given express prior permission.
1️⃣1️⃣ Do not avoid moderation. This includes mod evading through rejoining, alternate accounts, impersonation, or communicating through other members.
1️⃣2️⃣ Do not minimod. If you see rule-breaking behavior, or if another member is causing a disturbance in chat, trying to handle the situation yourself will only compound the issue. Rather, ping or DM a moderator, or use the !report command.
1️⃣3️⃣ Please listen to the Moderators. Their ultimate goal is to maintain a pleasant server environment for everyone. Since the rules listed here are not exhaustive, Moderators act as human exception handlers, and handle situations not covered by the rules. Please be respectful and understanding of their decisions. If you disagree with the actions or response of a Moderator, please privately contact an Administrator.
